( IN MOST CASES WE CAN FIND A SOLUTION )

-----Where is the best place to site my building ?" the answer is , "it depends on what you're using it for." Here are some points to remember when siting the building. As always, we'd be delighted to offer as much assistance as we can to help you decide; please telephone us. Please keep in mind the position of the sun. If you're siting a greenhouse or summerhouse, you will probably wish to locate the building directly in it's path. However, if you're locating a workshop, it's unlikely you'll want to be working in a building heated by the sun's rays! Similarly, if it's a potting shed or somewhere you'll be working with plants, you'll probably want there to be a water supply close-by. Running a water supply down a long garden would be uneconomical, so perhaps a location nearer to the house ? Electric and phone lines may be a consideration too so, again, perhaps a better idea to consider a location close to the house. It can get very muddy and damp in the winter, so locating the door of the building next to a path is always good news. To ensure the longevity of your building, we do not recommend that trees or shrubs overhang the building. You should position the building a minimum of 12" away from walls and fences for two reason; 1. To allow the fitter to install the building correctly, and 2. to allow you to retreat the building easily Our fitter will require a clear route from the delivery vehicle to the site. This means that any steps, height restrictions, etc may present a problem, however we are happy to offer assistance in this

What is cladding?
The cladding is the timber on the outside of the building. We offer a traditional shiplap and our own pattern loglap. All the timber is prepared (planed). Both sections have a tongue and a rebate to give maximum strength and good weather protection.

Do you stock any buildings?
Your building will be made to order once we have agreed your personal specifications, which means you can usually modify door and window positioning at no extra cost. This means there is a lead-time for your building that will be confirmed when you place your order.

Do I need to be at home when my building is delivered and erected?
You don't need to be in when we deliver and install, and our delivery and installation teams don't need power. So long as we can get access to the base we can complete the building without inconveniencing you.

Do you deliver at weekends or evenings?
We deliver between 8am and 5pm on weekdays only. We'll usually be able to give you an estimate of when we'll arrive with you when we confirm delivery before we arrive.

Can I add internal partitions to my building?
When placing your order at mdsheds we can add partitions, extra doors, windows and so on to build the perfect building to meet your needs. Please look at the Tailor-made page for some ideas.

What is the preservative
We use Langlow Red Cedar spirit-based treatment. We have a custom made vertical dipping tank. This allows us to submerge the whole panel in the preservative and gives the hard-to-reach parts a good soaking. This is a base coat and you'll need to follow a maintenance regime depending on what product is used. We also offer a maintenance service; please contact us for details.

What do I need for a base?
To ensure that the building is stiff and strong, all our buildings require a firm and level base over the whole area of the building. This should be done with concrete or with slabs on a dry mix. If you'd like us to take the strain, we can organise either type of base for any of our buildings.

What are bearers?
The bearers go under the building and are a spacer between it and the base. They are designed to give air flow under the building to prevent condensation build-up, helping to prevent rot and prolonging the life of the building
